Year 2016

Here are some noteworthy events for Igneous from the year 2016

Our Projects and Activities

The final event we held on Waterwheel was Waterworks! on World Water Day 2016: 250+ entries, 150+ scientists, artists, activists and youth from 5 continents contributed to the call for the online exhibition. 22 curators from 19 countries discussed selected entries and responded to online audience (18–20 March 2016). After that we archived water-wheel.net (until 2021), allowing for 5 years to the media centre but not to the interactive elements on the Tap.

Suzon photographed commercial kitchens of King Street, Newtown, and Oxford Street, Paddington, Darlinghurst and Bondi Junction, as a sequel to photos taken in 1998, and part of her People in their Kitchen series. She also photographed at the Women’s Interfaith Network meeting, in Sydney. The State Library of NSW bought small collections of both projects.

We did a Fluidata Creek Walkshop as part of Walking the Meshwork: an interactive symposium on walking as research, education and artistic practice, at SCU, Lismore.

Suzon upskilled in bookbinding, and ‘Actionskills’ (campaigning skills), workshops.
